My Mission

It is a performer’s job to make music look easy. All too often, we hit the ground running only to hit roadblocks such as bad teachers, obtusely written sheet music, or our own learning impediments. In my case, I have personally hit most of the roadblocks in becoming musical. I feel it is my sacred duty to help you overcome those hurdles until you are playing comfortably and happily, and that’s why I maintain my sense of humor at all costs!

Core Values at Triad Music Studios

Deeply Personalized Instruction: I believe each musician is a special snowflake in the best sort of way. Not everyone wants to play Bach and Mozart, but some do. I will try to suss out the style you were meant to play and then steer you towards it.

Optional Recitals: I strongly believe in recitals and performance as a way of motivating students to practice, but I will never force anyone to perform.

Adaptability: There are not many teachers out there who have the holistic grasp of music that I do. I am an arranger and I have written hundreds of arrangements for piano, guitar, voice, and small orchestra. I often have students who switch instruments or who end up doing everything I do: piano, guitar, and voice.

I believe in a holistic approach to musical training that caters to individual talents and potentials. My biggest goal is to instill musical skills that last a lifetime.

Tailored Lessons

Lessons are customized to fit the student’s unique pace and emerging style of each student. I have a great deal of experience working with special needs students of all ages.

Holistic Learning

I incorporate music theory, ear training, and performance skills into every lesson, ensuring a well-rounded education that enhances overall musicianship.

Encouraging Environment

As a composer/songwriter, I will never try to make a student do what I do but if that is their special talent, I will heavily encourage it.
